Does anyone have experience with skin care product companies scaling to go national / international? If so, I would be interested to connect and learn more about how this works and what the investment returns might be.

Hi Marta, This is Marty from Going, Going, Gone. Hope all is well. As you might remember In 2024, I sold over $25m in beauty, If you sell to big box retailers, it will take a large amount of capital. If you are more boutique in your sales and go direct to consumer via e-commerce captital investment would be workable. My only advice is when you are dealing with hair care, skin care, and cosmetics consumers are very much brand driven. They are concerned what goes on their body. This means the travel to success takes longer and press/reviews are extremely important

Hi Marta - I am an advisor to a company that makes a line of skin care beauty products. My biggest caution about the space (and any retail product space) is the potential strains on cash flow due to required investments in inventory, especially if you plan to sell through any of the largest retailers. I know that wasn't your question specifically, but working capital constraints will quickly eat into your returns and strain the company if not planned for appropriately. Looks like we're both in the East Bay - Feel free to DM me if I can help more.
