Should i acquire a professional service company outside my expertise area?

I would like to connect with searchers who have acquired a professional services firm like HR services, engineering consulting or environmental  services without a relevant background in that company's specific industry. How did it work out and what are some lessons learned from your experience? Thanks for sharing your insights

Hi Yasemin--I'm targeting professional services companies in my area of expertise (staffing companies) and slightly outside my expertise (HR services firms). It's going to be interesting to see which spaces yield more productive from a search point of view--happy to report as I make more progress!
