Selling a turnaround opportunity/distressed business

Has anyone had experience selling businesses as a turnaround/distressed asset? I'm interested to learn whether they are generally sold via private sale, or whether there are firms that specialize in selling them.
I own a business that was struggling, but profitable. It has improved recently and I would be interested in speaking with an experienced operator who would like to buy the business and to continue to help it succeed.
