We want to connect with attorneys licensed in any state who may be interested in a (passive) investment in a law firm acquisition. PE interest in the legal field is rapidly accelerating as the industry takes aim on the high margin, highly fragmented world of small law firms. Borrowing from this trend – our team has explored and refined a thesis centering on consumer-facing legal work handled by small law firms. But unlike our PE counterparts, we won't need a messy MSO structure (which in Illinois, was made more difficult as of Monday: see Illinois General Assembly - Bill Status of HB5487). And we are looking at practice areas that are outside of the initial focus of PE (hint: we are NOT considering personal injury). If you know of any attorneys who may be interested in hearing more, please make an introduction! We are negotiating several LOIs and, given our outside capital is not committed, want to expand our existing investor base. Nearly all of our deals are sourced off-market, and we are often the only buyer - so investors can expect to "win" at closing.

Are you structuring in a way so that the lawyer-investors don't have imputed conflicts from the acquired firm (and all other lawyer-investor firms)?
