Seeking Insights on Finding Board Advisors

Has anyone found success in bringing on an industry-specific Board Member/Advisor and, if so, how did you approach finding this person? We are looking for advisors in the IT Services, Lab Testing, and Durable Medical Equipment industries to help with due diligence and sit on the Board post-close.
