Reaching out to anyone who Searched and didn't end up acquiring a company? Any insights and learnings would be much appreciated (on the thread or via a direct message, whatever is preferred)

Many thanks,

A.J Wasserstein from the Yale University Business School has some case studies that have been published. You can find them using the link (https://som.yale.edu/faculty/aj-wasserstein).
The case studies are from search funds in America but the learnings could be applied to your search in Australia.

Ensure any funding you have is aligned with where you want to go. I ended up closing my search after 9 months right before drawing down funds in part because the opportunities I was seeing in the market where I could be competitive were below the EBITDA ranges that make a traditional search fund work. Would have been great for self-funded, but that wasn't an option at the time.
