Has anyone within the community had success acquiring an LLP?
I'm currently searching for a UK-based engineering service or consulting business to acquire. During my proprietary search I'm finding a number consultancy businesses that are structured as LLP's.
They look great from the outside but I can foresee real challenges, the main ones being;
- they are usually very proudly of being independent and being management owned.
- the management team are the critical knowledge asset within the company, therefore a major flight risk post acquisition (assuming you can get one done)
- The are multiple owners with these LLP's, I've seen up to twelve partners. The chances of executing a deal with that many parties at the table seems remote.
I wanted to see if anyone had experience in this area, it'd be great to hear.
Feel free to DM me.
Cheers!
