Seach Fund Internship (Chicago)

Legacy Pursuit, LLC is a traditional search fund seeking to help one owner transition their business to the next phase. Rahul is primarily focused on acquiring a B2B niche calibration, testing, or servicing business within the US. As an MBA Associate, you will be a direct thought partner to Rahul in all aspects of the search and acquisition process. The internship is unpaid but can often be used as a field study for course credit. This role is a great fit for anyone interested in search funds, private equity, investment banking, entrepreneurship, and family businesses. You will gain an understanding of how a search funds operate and the company sourcing process, experience talking to business owners, intermediaries (brokers), and investors, and practice evaluating potential investment opportunities. Your responsibilities will include managing the brokered deal channel and process (inbound opportunities), including evaluating CIMs, owner and broker calls, initial diligence, and basic modeling, researching and identifying attractive industries and target companies, overseeing 1-2 undergraduate interns, and discussing the search process and potential business opportunities with Rahul. We are looking for current MBA students who are interested in starting their own search fund.
