UIC Sophomore Seeking Internship

Hi all,

First of all, I would just like to hope that all is well. As summer is coming to an end and my VC internship as well, I'm excited to challenge myself with another buy-side internship opportunity. To get out of everyone's hair, I will just cut to the chase and start introducing myself in the most concise way possible.

My name is Max, a rising sophomore at UIC (University of Illinois Chicago), and I major in Finance with a minor in Mathematics and Mangement Information Systems. I like everything from sports to arts (Ian Poulter is my favorite golfer). In terms of extra-curriculars, I am notably the president of my college's first-ever student-organized golf club and lecturer of our quantitative trading club.

I am particularly interested in interning at a search fund since I have always been captivated by the nature of buy-side work. My current internship at a venture capital firm, which ends in two weeks as I write this, has taught me that I love learning. While actively talking to different business owners, performing business audits, and evaluating startups using models from various Damodaran lectures that my associate recommended, I noticed that I would always ramble the entire process back to my parents at the dinner table or with my friends. I enjoy seeing development and what I do.

Furthermore, I value teamwork and being precise. From the moment I began my first internship several years ago, I have never left an internship without failing to assist with three unique duties at the same time and completing them on-time. No matter how hard and technical the tasks are, I would always get them done in my last internship (financial modelling & cash-flow forecasting, comps-based analysis, market research, client-based communications, etc.)
