If anyone has any info they can share about restoration & remediation businesses - concerns, challenges, operations, ability to scale, trends, etc. - would appreciate sharing. Considering an acquisition in this space and looking to gain some knowledge so know what to look for during DD. Thanks!

I've done a lot of work in environmental/restoration/remediation. Very fragmented industry, but a lot of unsophisticated businesses. Revenue consistency is really important. Get a good handle on the regulatory drivers and their sustainability (ie. in NYC Local law 55 in 2018 spurned tons of growth for mold remediation and air quality companies). How complex/difficult is their work? Who's paying them (building owners, insurance, etc.)? Receivables a big one too. How much of their receivables are they collecting on/how long does it take? Always happy to chat.

Scott, I have been in the restoration space for over 30 years, and currently consult in restoration and the home services space. I have advised many PE firms and I would be happy to assist in your research. Please let me know if you would like to connect.
