Regional vs. national searchers - traditional SF investors

I've heard anecdotally that traditional search fund backers are opening up to regional searchers (as opposed to requiring a nationwide search). I'm interested in knowing if this is consistent with others' (more recent) experience.

Thanks for the feedback!

I've heard the same anecdotally and would love to hear directly from searchers. The two reasons I've heard is a recognition that doing a regional search allows you to go deeper//specialize in companies in that region. It's also a nod to the fact that searchers tend to find companies within a reasonable drive/plane ride of their location. Here's the analysis we did on that: https://www.searchfunder.com/post/searchfunder-analysis-distance-to-your-target
