Recent MBA grad trying to figure out market conditions

by a searcher from Harvard University - Harvard Business School in New York, NY, USA
I just graduated from school and have been contemplating a self-funded search but was told by some people that this may not be the best time to search (so I am doing an internship this summer) and to wait to let things cool down. Would love to hear from some people currently doing searches on whether or not they are seeing this, or what the market seems like to them?

I suppose the key thing to keep in mind is the risk and uncertainty related to the specific industry where you want to make your acquisition. Risk can be managed but uncertainty cannot. If you can envision a post-COVID world then perhaps uncertainty for others can be an opportunity for you (not sure if investors would be convinced though).
Personally, I am eager to graduate and dive right in by managing risk and ignoring industries that have high uncertainty associated with them due to COVID.
Would love to hear other peoples thoughts.
