Recapitalization Restrictions

Hello all,

Currently finishing up my MBA and contemplating between a self-funded search, traditional search, and an incubator/accelerator search.

After how many years would a recapitalization be allowed and can you completely buyout your investors by raising debt?

The question is way too broad and non specific. Each case is unique. BTW, IDK what an incubator/accelerator search even is.
