Reasonable asset protection prior to launching search

Warren Buffet has two rules w/ regard to money.
Rule #1: Don't lose money.
Rule #2: Refer to rule #1.

I'm pre-launching my self-funded search and am organizing all of the different assets / income streams personally ahead of time. Does anyone have any advice on reasonable asset protection strategies to consider ahead of launching a search and, potentially, signing up to a personal guarantee through an SBA loan?
