Questions to ask/investigate when buying an MSP?

I am looking into the acquisition of an existing MSP business. It is a well established business with a retiring owner. Besides P&L and tax returns, is there anything else that I should be looking into or asking? Where else would I look if I want to know where the bodies are buried?

Hey there Mr. Squirrel, you can investigate until you are comfortable. Looking into past litigations/criminality comes to mind. Depending on your relationship with the owner and resources, a private investigator can be employed in order to ferret out misrepresentations of character or company if there are concerns.
