Most Searchers spend a huge amount of time sourcing proprietary deals, however not every deal is a fit for the searcher who sourced the deal. In theory, it would make sense to share proprietary deal leads with other searchers. However, there is currently very little deal sharing activity happening in our ecosystem because, a) searchers don’t have a financial incentive to do so, and b) the time/effort investment involved in sharing proprietary deals.

I have been thinking about this issue for a while and spent the past months working on a marketplace site that addresses this problem. The idea is to make it really easy for searchers to share proprietary deal leads while providing a financial incentive via finder’s fee agreements built into the deal sharing workflow. There are two primary benefits:

  1. Searchers can easily share proprietary deals and make money via finder’s fee agreements. This potentially helps fund and/or extend the search phase.
  2. Searchers get access to proprietary deals found by other searchers. This increased high-quality deal flow for everyone and potentially reduces the typical 2-year search phase.

I’m looking for searchers who are interested in becoming early users of the marketplace site. Please send me a private message if you are willing to participate by posting a proprietary deal on an anonymous basis. Available to anyone in the ETA ecosystem (searchers, independent sponsors, small PE firms, etc).
