Hello,

Anyone have data (numbers or anecdotal) comparing the average timeline to complete a search via proprietary deal sourcing (e.g. cold outreach by yourself) vs sourcing through brokers?

The best outreach is warm outreach - intentionally developing relationships with good targets well in advance. Our average length of relationships with a business owner who potentially will sell is 24 months. That level of trust allows us to get under LOI after only a few calls.

I haven't seen anything on this. I would guess the average for proprietary is ~18 months and for brokered it's ~12 (but I also think both of these averages are rising because of increased competition)
