Private Equity / Investment banking Internship with Startup Firm (Chicago)

You are an MBA1 or undergraduate (sophomore and above) looking for unpaid fall internship and eager to get an inside look at the process of launching a search fund. You will work closely with the founder of the firm in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, shaping a new company and helping to define how it operates. You should have: - An interest in marketing, finance or investing but no experience is required - An eagerness to make an impact - A self-starter attitude - A strong work ethic and an ability to work both independently and in a group - A strong desire to learn - An attention to detail - Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills Our firm United Communities is a startup M&A firm looking to acquire a company in the Mobile home and RV industry. The internship We are looking for a 7-week commitment (starts approximately December###-###-#### with###-###-#### hours per week, including 2-3 hrs of meetings per month. We are open to only remote candidates at this time. Responsibilities may include: - Researching potential investors - Creating call lists - Researching industries and developing perspectives - Drafting marketing materials (website, emails, etc.) - Identifying prospective companies to target - Analyzing companies and prospective deals - Modeling potential returns and value creation opportunities - Developing the internship program and hiring future interns We approach the internship as an apprentice-type program, working together to learn and build this firm. By the end of the internship, you’ll understand the fund’s investment strategy and focus industries. We will have structured sessions on private equity and the search fund model, industry analysis, financial analysis concepts, and career development.
