Based in New York and San Diego, Majority Search is a lower middle market private equity firm focused on acquiring healthy, growing companies with $1-5 million in EBITDA. We raised our inaugural fund in 2022 with commitments from leading family offices and business owners who understand the advantages of compounding of capital over extended time horizons. Given the growth in our pipeline and deal-related activity, we’re actively looking to hire an Associate for our investment team. Special opportunities don’t come around very often. We think this is one of them. This is a unique opportunity to join: - An experienced investment team with a strong pedigree; - Backed by an amazing group of engaged investors; - Serving an enormous market that has outperformed traditional private equity returns for decades; - In a pivotal role that has tremendous upside and a great deal of autonomy. We’ve spent the past year building out our sourcing platform and are now ready to add to our team and begin rapidly scaling our operations. With your effort and commitment, we’ll move closer – together – to realizing our ambition of building an enduring world-class investment firm focused on being the buyer of choice for the world’s most exceptional small companies. If this has you fired up and ready to work relentlessly and fully to bring this vision to life, read on. As an Associate at Majority Search, you will be the first non-founder member of the investment team and will work closely with the partners on every aspect of the business. Your role will include: - Refining, improving, and ultimately leading our sourcing and transaction processes - from industry thesis and contact list development to owner and broker calls to negotiating, conducting due diligence on, and closing opportunities; - Supporting our fund and management company operations; - Creating and maintaining relevant operating procedures and workflows; and - Assisting in fundraising and investor relations If you're an exceptionally high achiever who is passionate about small business and investing and eager to play a defining role in the development of a highly differentiated investment firm with huge ambitions and the market demand to support it, we’d like to talk. The position will be based in New York City and include occasional travel. Compensation includes a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and carried interest in future funds. Job Requirements To encourage applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds and with a range of experience, we have few formal requirements. As a successful candidate, you will have a demonstrated track record of professional success and at least two years of work experience. In addition, you should be comfortable working in an environment with few formalized processes, enjoy creating and optimizing work flows (especially using automation, AI, and low code tools), have a creative talent for identifying opportunities, and be excited about building and leading a team of global investment professionals. In terms of character, you should value and exhibit integrity, humility, curiosity, drive, and emotional intelligence.
