Are you an undergraduate or recent grad who is looking to get exposure to private equity, entrepreneurship, and business thinking?
Northeast Legacy is seeking a second part- to full-time remote analyst to join our team to manage operations and the end-to-end deal process. The position has flexibility around timing / time commitment, is fully remote, and will include significant coaching and mentoring on topics such as LBO modeling, due diligence, and other topics of choice in a small group setting.
Northeast Legacy is a small private equity (search) vehicle focused on acquiring a business in the northeastern US doing $1M+ in EBITDA. Northeast Legacy’s founder (Michael Haghkerdar) is most recently a Principal (senior manager) in the Boston Consulting Group’s Private Equity practice, and has experience managing a wide variety of business types, deals, and operating scenarios.
Weekly responsibilities include (in approximate order of time commitment):
• Checking with brokers and broker listings for opportunities
• Preparing leads / lead lists for emailing and cold-calling
• Early screening of opportunities and presenting qualified leads
• Managing deal pipeline and CRM system
• Industry research (primarily desk research and calls)
• Help with financial modeling and structuring
• Coaching / mentoring sessions with Michael on topics of choice
• Other tasks as needed
The ideal candidate will have:
• An interest in business (entrepreneurship, finance) with some basic knowledge, e.g., familiarity with core business and financial terms
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Basic proficiency with Excel
• Willingness to learn and use CRM system (Zoho)
• Proactive nature with a sense of urgency
• A sense of curiosity and fun
Position details:
• Time commitment: 20-40 hours per week with flexibility day-to-day / week-to-week
• Start and duration: Starting ASAP, at least 12 weeks
• Location: Remote
• Unpaid internship, but in some cases can receive academic credit
• Reports to: Michael (Founder)
