President (Future CEO, Sales/GTM Focused)

Worklyn Partners is looking for a sales-focused business leader who is interested in serving as the right-hand to the CEO of one of our portfolio companies. We envision this person taking over as CEO after 1-2 years in this role and furthering the growth of the business. Headquartered in the Bay Area, this company provides network engineering and integration and IT services to state, local, and education (SLED) customers on the West Coast.
Responsibilities will include:
- Planning, designing, and implementing an updated go-to-market (GTM) strategy to increase contract win-rate across the California SLED market, hiring talent and appropriately deploying resources to achieve GTM goals
- Leading the ongoing transition of reselling networking products and offering related integration services, to selling proactive, (recurring) managed IT services
- Maintaining a pulse on competitive markets and creatively sourcing new business opportunities
- Overseeing all marketing initiatives
- Interfacing with lobbyists as necessary and build a lobbying strategy if appropriate
- Building on and maturing the existing partnership strategy
- Implementing new, automated processes and procedures to improve efficiencies across the organization
- Leading the rollout of a new automated bid / CRM software tool
- Hiring and managing an effective and capable sales team to achieve quarterly and annual sales goals
- Developing and maintaining relationships with customers, government officials, and other various parties that are in the best interest of the company
- Working closely with the current CEO of NetXperts and the members of Worklyn Partners to set and achieve clear goals for each department
We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who is ready to take the next step as an executive leader of a small, growing business. While we prefer candidates with experience working with SLED customers or familiarity of the SLED environment, we are open to candidates that prove a willingness to learn. This position could be ideal for someone who wants to skip the "search phase" of ETA and move straight to operating and leading a business that they have equity in.
