Post Acquisition - Fractional COO or Ops Manager

Has anyone tried a fractional COO or Ops manager service to help with post-acquisition work? If yes, which company would you recommend using?

Assuming contractors or consultants on a part time basis would also do the trick here. What have you done?

Through that I've worked with a few solid fractional COO/Ops managers. I would suggest having whoever you work with put together a detailed Statement of Work so expectations for the project are aligned from the get-go.
