Podcasting as an off-market sourcing strategy?

I am a new searcher and getting my feet wet in searching for off-market narrow SaaS companies. Started talking to Claude for sourcing strategy and it came up with an "interview series as sourcing pretext" strategy. The goal is to become credible and be top of mind in the seller circle so that they will think of you when they are ready to sell. Podcasting, according to Claude, gets owners to talk to me to share their experiences instead of responding to a sales pitch. It is even honest to tell me the first three months will feel like moving sideways but then in month six deals will start to flow. Is this fantasy or a good idea? What has people done to get deep conversations with the owners?
