Education: Bachelors Degree / MBA Preferred Resurgent Capital Partners is a growing middle market private equity firm based in Los Angeles. We are looking for an individual that wants to learn all aspects of the Private Equity Business. This is a very unique opportunity to be the first team member at a growing PE firm. This individual will be given significant responsibility beyond the scope of a traditional PE Associate and will help shape the direction and vision of the firm. As a Private Equity Sr. Associate/VP, you will be responsible for financial modeling and analysis to support new investments, as well as the existing portfolio. In particular, the job will be to: • Create and execute deal sourcing campaigns • Drive due diligence projects on prospective acquisitions including commercial due diligence, financial modeling, managing accounting providers, and legal document review • Assist in monitoring portfolio companies on a post-investment basis. You must possess a combination of business savvy, strong quantitative skills, deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, and ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment.
As part of Resurgent, you will work with senior members of the investment team on a daily basis and also interact with the CEOs and CFOs of its portfolio companies and prospective investments.

Given early stage nature of this firm, this position will have exposure to all aspects of the PE investment process
• Deal Sourcing 1. Assist senior member of the firm in finding new and creative ways to drive deal flow through proprietary channels and with intermediaries who represent acquisition opportunities • Capital Raising 1. Assist in proactively building relationships with debt and equity capital sources 2. Preparing and presenting materials for capital raising for live deals • Commercial Due Diligence: 1. Creatively using primary and secondary sources of information to assess a business’ market position, competitive advantages, and future opportunities and risks • Financial Modeling: Develop financial models and analyses to inform decisions by the investment team, including: 1. Modeling income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement using detailed assumptions and “what-if” scenarios 2. Evaluating effectiveness of pro-forma changes to the business operations of prospective investments 3. Analyzing historical trending of the business and developing insights and recommendations
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements of existing investments, including:
1. Reviewing monthly financial statements of investments and providing analytical feedback 2. Conducting variance analyses between budgeted and actual performance and analyzing drivers of variance 3. Working with the finance team at portfolio companies to manage cash flow and maintain weekly cash forecast
• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred • 2-4 years in Transaction Advisory Services for an Accounting firm HIGHLY preferred • 2-4 years in investment banking/strategy consulting • Top performer at all jobs held • Extremely strong quantitative skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment • This position is currently remote, but will eventually be based in Los Angeles
