pay for performance comp model

Has anyone implemented or acquired a service company with a pay for performance compensation model?

I'm currently working with a local healthcare business to implement a p4p model. I've seen enough success stories in our market that I'm comfortable with it. However, I'm curious how this looks in other industries with different service offerings, inputs, and nuances.
