SearchFunders, This post is self-centered, but thoughts and prayers are powerful. My business partner and I recently (end of February) acquired a tax-centric CPA practice in Houston, TX and utilized SBA-backed financing. My business partner informed me last week that he would become 'non-revenue generating' as the 'tax guy' in our partnership (I'm a financial/advisory CPA) after experiencing an excessive number of billable hours since closing (over 450, by his count). On Friday, my business partner withdrew $25K from our bank account that was earmarked for payables. Over the weekend, our staff quit unexpectedly. Yesterday morning, my business partner informed me that he had hired them under his other practice, after they inquired last week if they would get paid if he wasn't revenue-producing. He also shared that, this weekend, the former practice owner had shared with clients that I had been seeking outside tax practitioners to replace my partner's tax absence and shared that they could still stay with my business partner if they switched firms. Several clients have apparently committed to doing just that. The former staff, my business partner, and the former practitioner are all working in the office, using the equipment, and accessing the client data of the practice that we own. Yesterday was disillusionment. Today is more focused and I have sought legal advice on how to proceed. I'm not sure what tomorrow will bring. I am just asking for any extra thoughts or prayers you have lying around. Much appreciation and gratitude, Jason
