Part-time Investment Due Diligence Intern (MBA/Masters level)

Local/Remote
Heritage Harbor Partners LLC
·
Los Angeles, CA, USA
Heritage Harbor is looking for one part-time intern, currently enrolled in an MBA or a relevant master's program, to support ad hoc investment research and due diligence on live deals over the coming semester. This is hands-on work on real opportunities moving through the pipeline — both pre-LOI (evaluating new targets, building the investment case, spotting the things that kill deals early) and post-LOI (deeper diligence support as deals move toward close). You'd work directly with the founder with meaningful ownership over your workstreams.
Representative work:
Industry and market research on target verticals and specific companies
Building and pressure-testing financial and valuation analyses
Diligence support on live deals — quality-of-earnings review, customer/market validation, identifying red flags
Synthesizing findings into clear, decision-ready output
Who we're looking for
Currently in an MBA or master's program
Some practical experience you can apply to live deals — prior work in private equity, investment banking, consulting, corporate development, or operating/finance roles is a plus
Strong analytical and financial reasoning; comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete information
Genuinely interested in ETA / search / lower-middle-market M&A
Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to turn work around on a live-deal timeline
Details
Part-time, remote, flexible hours around your class schedule, for the coming fall/winter semester.
This role is unpaid, however especially well-suited to someone considering raising their own traditional search fund. It's real, on-the-ground deal experience — you'll see how a live search actually runs day to day, from sourcing and pre-LOI evaluation through diligence toward close. It's a close-up, inside view of the path before you commit to it yourself.
To apply, please email redacted with a brief note on your background and relevant experience, plus a resume.
