Has anyone used buy-side firms to support their search?

Has anyone ever used a firm like Merge to run their search and source off market deals for them? I am considering it but obviously it's a big expense monthly to get something going. I'm curious on experiences.

I've had appointment setting services quote me everything from $2800 to $7500 a month - some include success fees on closings, which feels rich to me.
