Our Bootstrapped Journey

Big League Clean all started on a rainy day in June, 2023 at a Starbucks in Denver, Colorado. It was 2 pm, as I held a warm black coffee in my hand and my future business partner, Nash, walked through the door with a toothpick in his mouth and a confident swagger. I respected the entrance and walked up to him to introduce myself and shake hands. We had no clue this interaction would change our lives. 2 days earlier, I had received a phone call from my buddy, Matias. He told me there was a guy I had to meet. Apparently, this guy (Nash) had risked it all and left his director level corporate job to go out and start a cleaning company. I was in a similar but different boat, having just been fired from my job, as I had been spending all my energy trying to build my 4th and hopefully 1st successful business. When we met in that Starbucks, we instantly clicked. Our aligned ambitions, focus on ethics, interest in the commercial cleaning industry, and a desire to build a valuable brand were among the core tenets that brought us together. We had overlapping skills as a couple of sales guys, and both of us knew that was a red flag when picking a co founder. But in that moment, we both felt in our gut that this was meant to happen. We had spoken for 3 hours, and just like that, we both decided to risk our life savings and futures on each other and a name. Big League Clean was born. Since that moment, 920 days ago, BLC has cleaned over 10 million square feet. What started out as a couple guys making a bet on each other, turned into an amazing partnership. While we’ve had a lucky start, this is ultimately just the beginning and we have so much more to do and impact to make in the cleaning space across the US.
