Does anyone have recent experience hiring additional sales reps into a company that has historically had limited outside business development?  And would be willing to have a quick phone call?  I'm looking for advice on your experience, how/where to recruit, compensation and commission systems, pitfalls to avoid, etc.

I'd be grateful for the time.  Reply here, direct message, or email me redacted

Find a competing firm that is doing it right, and try to woo someone away. Find a firm in your value chain doing it right, and try to form an alliance. Hire an outside sales person in a different time zone, that may be able to start with you before transitioning out of a current role (when they get out of work, it is still business hours somewhere they can remotely sell). Other strategies to leverage "the good ones that are already taken", versus find "a good one that is currently available".

Me too. Would be interested in joining a con call. We have been trying to hire a rep for one of our portcos and it's been tough -- not great luck with linkedin, indeed, recruiters, etc. Happy to share / listen. My e-mail is redacted
