Operators - Do you use or have an interest in using fractional CFO services? If so, what sort of deliverables and time commitment do you get or would be interested in?

Fractional CFOs can be a very positive resource if you truly need the knowledge of a CFO. If you need restructuring of the accounting/close process, banking /refinancing expertise, road show funding expertise, etc., but don't need a full-time CFO, having someone "on-call" can give you the knowledge you need. It will also help as your needs grow to have the same CFO, who will have the history and know the back-story as you grow.

Just discussing this very subject this weekend. Agree with Russell and Kevin. I would always want a high-level CPA firm or power CPA on retainer or on call when needed. No need to pay for a full time service that you probably may not need. A one hour consultation when a strange situation comes up plus an extra eye every quarter on your financials in most small and LMM businesses is just smart.
