A private equity fund client is seeking USD$55 million in additional capital for their third fund (USD$100k minimum investment). They invest in Australian based essential services businesses. Last year and exit figures for Fund I and Fund II combined were $165 million in revenue and $38.7 million of EBITDA. Their previous two funds have generated gross IRR between 18% and 118% per company with a MOIC of 1.5x to 2.5x. The fund acquires only mission critical, non-discretionary, B2B essential service businesses that are cash generative, with contracted revenues, real assets, and are based throughout Australia with enterprise values between USD$10-$20 million and EBITDA of USD$2-$5 million. They target a 30% IRR and 5% dividend yield. The investment team has transacted on 32 deals over the past seven years across Australian essential services businesses. This is their third fund which seeks to replicate the success of their first two funds. If any of these are of interest to you or somebody else, just let me know. We’ve got more in the pipeline, so we’ll update you on those in the very near future.
