Hi,

Has any Non US citizen acquired a US business ? SBA doesn't give loan to non - US citizens, unless they partner with a US citizen/ Green card holder and have them own > 50% of the business. Has anyone been successful in getting a commercial loan for acquisition while holding to majority equity and putting down 10-20% ?

I'm a Canadian citizen and would love to connect and get some guidance!

Thanks for tagging. I don’t have any luck on that. SBA and commercial lending are very strict on this part. However, I’ve heard that people from Canadian can actually use their local bank to acquire US companies and I think this is a brilliant idea worth exploring.

I’ve worked with a large number of non-US persons, who are acquiring business interest in the United States. It’s more a function of structuring the holding company. In terms of operational control, language is very context specific. I have 20 years experience with cross border transaction such as this.

I would strongly suggest that we speak, so I can get more information, and provide a tailored solution. redacted (###-###-####
