Hi Community, Excited to join the group. I’m a buy-side equity research analyst and former pro athlete based in Fairfield County, CT. I am currently in the very early stages of launching a self-funded search with committed personal capital. I am still refining my specific thesis, currently weighing the trade-offs between acquiring a sticky local service business (HVAC/Logistics) versus a remote-capable digital asset (SaaS/B2B Services). I am looking to immerse myself in the ecosystem and would love suggestions / advice. • What are the best local meetups or groups for searchers in the NY/CT/Northeast area? • I’m looking to connect with finance professionals who have successfully navigated ETA • Recommendations for brokers or marketplaces that specialize in remote-capable or digital assets would be appreciated I am eager to learn from others and be contribute to this community!

First of all, what is your passion? What do you actually like, don't buy something based off numbers only, when things go bad can you stomach it? A lot of people think acquisitions is just plug and play, brother your name is on the loan. You're liable, be smart. I'd always recommend blue collar, but it's slower to scale, capital intensive and very relationship driver. Anything SaaS you will ALWAYS end up overpaying because tech is valued on future potential value, easier to scale through ads or hire some BDR's/SDR's but then again, there's always tradeoffs. Don't just rely on numbers, what's your growth plan?
