I thought the Canadian community would find this interesting, this is on the heels of an announcement by BDC and First Nationals Bank of Canada earlier this summer, gauranteeing loans to indiginous groups, involved in the wealth transition, BDC has announced a new $50M fund to invest (equity) into women-led search funds, and ETA. There is also $10M earmarked to invest directly into private equity to support women led acquisitions. https://www.bdc.ca/en/about/mediaroom/news-releases/bdc-launches-first-of-its-kind-in-canada-50m-fund-to-drive-business-acquisitions-by-women-entrepreneurs

Here's what they're looking to back: - Women leaders ready to acquire and operate an established midsized Canadian business (EBITA between $1-$5 million) - Women pursuing acquisition through a search fund, management buyout, or self-funded search - Women across industries and regions, anywhere in Canada

It is a great news. Isn't it the first financial institution that openly supports search fund or ETA in Canada?
