Minimum toolkit to kick-off search phase

Hi there! We're about to finish fundraising and setting up the legal structure to launch a search soon. We're wondering about  how to prepare before starting it.

In your opinion, what are the most important things to have or to prepare in order to start searching effectively from day 1? Any views or consideration will be very helpful. A checklist would be wonderful! Thanks a lot :)

Fully recognizing my perspective is a bit unique to the search community but my best advice would be to be 100% clear on your brand and value proposition as a buyer. The search community is robust and I feel like every searcher profile starts to blend together. The searchers I have supported are 100% clear on who they are as a buyer and have approached their search with crystal clarity on what was important to them as a buyer and could clearly communicate that to a seller which is why they closed deals. Again, I support self-funded searchers so it's a slightly different model that traditional search funds.
