Just putting this out here to see who might be thinking along similar lines.
I own a service-based behavioral health business that operates in a distinct niche, with strong footprints in Dallas and Los Angeles. I’ve owned it for five years, and it has grown consistently since acquisition. My involvement has varied over that time, and the business is not dependent on me as a key operator. We expect to finish the year just shy of $1 million in EBITDA.
While a sale is an option, I’m also exploring a merger with a complementary behavioral health operator of similar size. Ideally, that would be a more established, facility-based business with an insurance-supported revenue model and consistent earnings.
The potential fit is straightforward: our business contributes high-margin cash flow, while a partner brings infrastructure and a complementary service offering. Combining administrative functions could eliminate a meaningful portion of our overhead, freeing up cash to reinvest in growth over the following 12–24 months. There may also be opportunities to grow through shared referral relationships, geographic expansion, and additional services.
The goal would be to build a diversified behavioral health organization with $3 million or more in EBITDA before pursuing an eventual exit, with the potential to earn a stronger multiple together than either business could independently.
Geography is flexible. I’m primarily interested in finding the right operator, complementary services, and a similar financial profile. If this aligns with what you’re building, I’d welcome a conversation.
