Dear Searchfunder Community,

I am currently trying to develop a suitable research question for my Master Thesis that I would like to write on a topic related to Search Funds.

If anyone has a research questions he/she currently wants to investigate or could think of, I am very happy to receive your input and for support.

Until now my professor and myself were thinking about analyzing and measuring the impact of best practices during the search phase. However, there is already a piece of research existing from Stanford.

I would be very happy to get in touch with you and to hear about interesting questions to examine related to Search Funds.

Thank you so much and have a great day,
Alexander Keil

As a recovering entrepreneur who has launched a handful of startups, but later decided to acquire a small business, I think it is fascinating to compare the two career paths. Having lived through both, I feel like entrepreneurship through acquisition (i.e. search funds) is the entrepreneur's best-kept-secret. With a search fund, there's less risk, yet ironically better valuation metrics, plenty of room for growth, etc. I could go on-and-on, but I won't. In short, I think there is a compelling comparison to be done.

Hello everyone, Thank you for your messages. Do you think it would be interesting to analyze whether a searcher is more likely to buy a company after the initial search phase if 1) the number of investors is small (<10) versus 2) the number of investors is big (>10)? So in short, the effect of the number of investors on the probability of a transaction after the search phase..
