I'm looking at buying a Managed WordPress Hosting service. I'd love community thoughts on this PROS: - High net margin %, almost entirely recurring. - Agency segment retention is incredible. 95+% M36 logo retention for the larger accounts. 44 customers drive 59% of MRR. CONS: - Will AI eat this space? My bet is no; AI will make it easier to service clients, but the clients themselves will not start using AI to replace this service. - While I think client retention will remain high, I think getting new clients will be tough. This is already a competitive space, and AI is about to lower the barrier to entry. - Moreover, this is a service company layered on top of a vendor who is offering similar services as well. - WordPress market share is declining for the first time (43.6% → 42.6%). Agencies migrating to Webflow/Framer. QUESTIONS: 1. How much of a threat do you think AI is a threat to this space? 2. For anyone in the WordPress/agency ecosystem — are agencies actually adopting AI tools for site management yet, or is it still theoretical? How fast is the shift? 3. At what multiple would you buy a high-margin, no-growth, AI-threatened SaaS-like services business with fully delegable ops? The current multiple is around 4.4x Does anyone know anyone in this space? Either: 1) someone who operates a Managed WordPress Hosting service, or 2) someone who owns a web design agency and uses a Managed WordPress Hosting service?
