ABOUT AXIA
Axia Growth builds deal flow for private equity firms, M&A advisors, business brokers, and investment banks. We run the outbound that fills their pipeline: cold email, cold calling, and appointment setting. We have sourced over $500M in deal flow for our clients.
We staff origination with students on purpose. Three cohorts have run it so far, and they now book more appointments for our clients than the outsourced team they replaced.
THE ROLE
The M&A Accelerator is a five-week program. Week one is training. Weeks two through five you call small business owners and book qualified appointments for our clients.
Most people who take this want investment banking, private equity, or consulting. Cold calling gets you comfortable talking to owners about their revenue faster than anything else we have found, and it gives you something concrete to say in an interview. "I placed 2,250 calls a week for a month" reads differently than a list of clubs.
We take fewer than 2% of applicants. High performers get asked to stay on part-time through the school year, working warm leads or leading a cohort.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Finish a one-week training on our scripts, CRM, and dialer before you touch a live list
• Place 750 dials a day, three days a week minimum (2,250 a week). Our parallel dialer places the attempts; you talk to whoever picks up
• Qualify owners against client criteria: revenue, industry, geography, willingness to talk about selling
• Book appointments and log a disposition on every contact
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have:
• Enrolled undergraduate student
• 12+ hours a week across at least three days, inside US business hours
• Quiet room, reliable internet, laptop
• You can take rejection for two hours and dial again. Most calls end with a receptionist or a no
• Spoken English clear enough to hold a business owner on the line
Nice-to-have:
• Interest in investment banking, private equity, search funds, or M&A
• Campus finance, consulting, or entrepreneurship club
• Any prior phone work: sales, fundraising, canvassing, front desk
COMPENSATION
This internship is unpaid. Earlier cohorts told us they wanted career support more than a per-appointment payout, so we moved that budget into the following:
• A seat in the Adventis Financial Modeling Certification (FMC). Three-statement modeling, DCF, public and precedent comps, LBO, then a proctored exam. We pay for it.
• A recommendation letter carrying your real call and booking numbers, signed by Axia's founder. You earn it by completing four weeks and hitting quota.
• An offboarding package with two things in it: how to write this experience on your LinkedIn and resume, and how to answer behavioral questions about it in a finance interview.
• Numbers you own. Dials placed, contacts reached, appointments booked, qualification rate. Yours to quote.
LOCATION
Remote. US time zones.
