Looking to increase deal flow in North Carolina

I'm based in Raleigh and currently searching for a small business acquisition in the Triangle and broader North Carolina market.
I'm primarily interested in established, profitable businesses that can be operated semi-absentee or have management already in place. For the right opportunity, I'm also open to becoming a full-time owner/operator. My target purchase price is up to approximately $1.5M, and I'm flexible on industry.
For those who have searched or acquired businesses in NC, what have been your best sources for finding quality opportunities outside of the major listing sites?
I'm especially interested in recommendations for local brokers, direct-to-owner strategies, off-market opportunities, or other resources that helped increase your deal flow.
I'd also love to connect with other searchers, business owners, brokers, and lenders in Raleigh, the Triangle, and throughout NC.

It will be tough to find a business for $1.5mm that is semi-absentee with strong management in place. I would connect with the top local brokers, M&A advisors and network with owners in the industries you're interested in. There are also some good meetups. I haven't been yet but @redacted‌ puts on a great meetup from what I hear.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate the feedback. I’m definitely flexible on the level of owner involvement and would consider a more hands-on opportunity for the right business. Are there any local brokers or M&A advisors in the Triangle that you would recommend connecting with? I’ll also check out @Helen Zhang's meetup. Thanks!
