I am new on this platform and looking to learn more about this path. Particularly looking to better understand if it's feasible to do a search in the tri-state area (NY,CT,NJ). Would love to learn more from folks who have either done or are currently doing one.

I’m largely in agreement with ^redacted‌, although I disagree to some extent on the “competitive geography” point. While there are undoubtedly more business buyers in the tri-state area, there are more than enough businesses in those three states to create a highly attractive, buyer-friendly supply/demand dynamic.

Geographically focusing your search can be effective in helping you prioritize your outreach and the deals that you spend time on. Plus, it makes meetings with targets more efficient if you don't have to hop on a plane. Just be mindful of the challenges of focusing your search on such a competitive geography.
