Looking for a finance or investment role in the Netherlands — need Dutch payroll for relocation

Hi everyone, I’m relocating from Germany to Amsterdam and looking for a finance or investment role at a Dutch entity. It must be Dutch payroll as this is required for apartment rental and the 30% tax ruling. Posting here because I suspect some of you have connections to European family offices, search fund investors, or HoldCos with Dutch operations. Why Amsterdam: My wife moved there for her studies. Right now I’m commuting 400km every weekend. 200km there on Friday, 200km back on Sunday. It’s not sustainable, and we need to find an apartment together. Dutch landlords require Dutch payslips, so I need a job with a Dutch entity to make that happen. The Netherlands is also better aligned with what I’m building long term: HoldCo structure, ETA ecosystem, and an acquisition friendly tax system. What I’m looking for: • Dutch employment contract (non negotiable as NL landlords require Dutch payslips) • €60k+ per year • Fully remote or hybrid in the Amsterdam area • 12 month contract is fine • Small team, autonomous work, English as working language • ETA relevant: deal work, due diligence, portfolio finance, corporate development What I bring: • 7+ years fractional finance and operations (100+ businesses) • Big Four and banking background (PwC, Postbank, Commerzbank, Rabobank) • MBA with distinction with a dissertation on post acquisition governance in HoldCo led acquisitions • Co-Founder and CFO of a subscription business (2.5 years) • Built and exited a niche marketplace • Founded ETA Amsterdam (0 to 155 members in 7 months) • Write Buyout Diary newsletter weekly • Conducted State of ETA 2025 research (57 respondents, 5 continents) Ideal scenarios: • Investment analyst at a family office or search fund investor with a Dutch entity • Corporate development at a HoldCo or PE platform in the Netherlands • Finance role at a search fund portfolio company based in the Netherlands • Deal platform with NL operations What I’m NOT looking for: • US remote role without Dutch payroll as it won’t work for my situation • Big corporate environment with endless meetings • Something that doesn’t build ETA relevant skills The ask: • Introductions to family offices, search fund investors, or HoldCos with Dutch entities • Portfolio companies in the Netherlands that need finance support • Anyone who’s navigated this situation before. Relocating to the Netherlands while building a search. I’d love to learn how you did it. This is a bridge role while I build Wakonda Ventures and continue my own search.
