Loan Application Experience

Has anyone gone through the process of getting a business loan recently? A few things I'm curious about: - How did you find your lender? Did you use a broker, marketplace, or go direct and why? - What surprised you (positively or negatively) about the process? - How many calls/emails did you get after your first inquiry? - Did you feel like you actually understood your options, or were you just guessing? Having a broker or consultant that knows local lenders and what they will approve matters. Building a relationship at a local lender matters down the road if you can find the right one. That doesn't mean a community bank, it can be a national lender, you just want a local contact.
