LEVERAGING ON-CAMPUS ACCESS TO YOUR MBA PROGRAM
I have the good fortune of living in the same town as my MBA school campus. I'm in the very early stages of learning about search funds and exploring the best way to go about getting started. I've scheduled a Q&A session with a faculty from the school's entrepreneurial center, but beyond this I'm looking for any advice on leveraging in-person access to an MBA program as an alum that I may not be considering.
In my mind, this should be a great asset, especially in the early stages of getting a fund started, and unfortunately I had no awareness of search funds while I was a student, so I've never tapped this source's potential for aid.
Thank you for any suggestions!
- easier access to a search partner and/or interns, if desired
- attending on-campus lectures / conferences
- using library and other spaces to work, especially if they offer database / resource access to alums
I use the databases primarily for:
- Company lists (searching all private companies by size, industry, etc..)
- Industry reports and trends
- Market Research on customers, segments, and sizes
