Are there investors in self-funded searchers that provide letters of support to searchers, beyond the letters of support that SBA lenders give out? Wondering best practices in terms of navigating broker proof of funds inquiries. Thank you.

Some nonbank lenders and mezz funds may be willing to issue a nonbinding letter of support setting forth their interest to provide a certain amount of capital, subject to the deal getting under contract and completing satisfactory DD.

You're more likely to get a letter of support or letter of interest to lend or a pre-qualification letter from an SBA lender, assuming you're going that route as you're saying self-funded.
