Hello Searchfunder community, My partner and I recently launched Legacy Transition Partners, an independent investment firm focused on partnering with founder-owned and entrepreneur-led businesses at important transition points. Across our partnership, we bring 35+ years of combined transaction experience and a disciplined, practical approach to getting deals closed. We are especially drawn to situations where a founder has built something meaningful and is seeking a capable, hands-on partner to help preserve the company’s culture and strengths while investing in its next stage of growth. We make majority/control investments in U.S.-based lower middle-market businesses, generally with $1–$5 million of EBITDA. We are also interested in add-on acquisitions of any size. Our focus is on essential services businesses, including: • Commercial and facility services • Industrial services • Residential services • Specialty distribution We look for companies with a scalable business model, strong customer retention, repeat or recurring revenue, attractive margins, consistent cash-flow generation, and clear opportunities for growth in fragmented markets. We are particularly interested in businesses where thoughtful add-on M&A can help build a stronger platform over time. What differentiates our approach is that we are investing our own money and aim to be active, constructive partners after closing. We support management teams through commercial strategy, pricing and sales execution, financial reporting and KPI visibility, technology and process improvements, leadership development, talent recruitment, succession planning, and disciplined add-on acquisition integration. We take a long-term, partnership-first view of ownership and seek flexible transaction structures that create a compelling outcome for founders while allowing them to participate in future upside where appropriate.
