Hi all, I'm looking at potentially purchasing a franchise, with a relatively inexpensive purchase price (~$100K) and was hoping to find a lawyer for the purchase process and FDD review. Given the relative size of the potential deal I was hoping to keep legal expenses roughly in line, and was hoping for a couple quick recommendations? Thank You,

You want a franchise specific attorney who has seen tons of FDDs before. You don't want a random business attorney. These guys have a good reputation: Spadea Lignana: https://www.spadealaw.com/ Matthew J. Kreutzer at howardandhoward.com Intercola law: https://www.franchiselawsolutions.com/services/buy-a-franchise Also, you can negotiate things in the Franchise Agreement. You can't negotiate royalties or franchise fees but I increased my territory size (for only 1 out of the 3 - they wouldn't do it for all 3), narrowed my non-compete, and extended my launch timeline requirements. I have seen others negotiate things like liquidated damages if they are high in the franchise agreement.
