I'm working on building my network of key relationships as I begin raising money. Do you have recommendations of law firms with direct search fund experience? I'm particularly interested in those firms where you had a positive experience working together to close a deal?

Just Google, "the top 100 law firms in the United States" and start interviewing partners who are willing to work with you. The keyword here is INTERVIEWING, you do not want to beg and ask for delayed or rolled fees and they'll get paid after the deal is successfully closed, however, usually rolled fees are at premium. If you find several law firms that are are willing to work with you, now you get to choose the best terms and ask for Engagement Letter (draft) to have them compete against for best terms.
