Hello all! After wrapping up my search, I’ve decided to take what I learned and launch an ABA therapy clinic. I’m in the early stages of planning and expect to open in early 2026. As I build out the playbook, I’d love to connect with folks who have experience operating in the ABA space - particularly around establishing commercial insurance contracts, negotiating rates, and understanding payer dynamics. I’m finding this to be one of the more opaque parts of the launch process, and any insights would be incredibly valuable. If you’ve built or operated an ABA practice, worked with payers, or have perspective on the contracting process, I’d really appreciate the chance to connect. Happy to trade notes or be helpful however I can. Thanks in advance, Scott

Great post. I operate an MSO that supports therapy and behavioral health practices, including payer contracting and insurance workflows. Happy to connect and share what I’ve seen across launches and negotiations, or any specific questions you’re facing. Feel free to email if helpful. redacted

I recommend identifying individuals to help you who are familiar with payer contracting in your area specifically. Payers seem to build networks in a regional way and you'll be able to move faster with someone who is familiar with the local teams at the commercial payers in your area. I can share some credentialing service providers as well, that can support your actual application process, but have also learned that these vendors can be fairly transactional and it takes forever. You still need a person on the ground to develop relationships, particularly if you want to be in-network with value-based / at-risk operators.
